Kate moved from Nova Scotia to BC in 1979, was present at the founding of our jazz festival, and has recorded over a dozen albums as a leader. Her best-known groups have included a quintet and trio under her own name, a duo with Bill Coon, and Garbo's Hat with Paul Blaney and Graham Ord.
